MCDP

MCDP delivers free and accessible activities and events in South West Sydney to support children and families to achieve safety and wellbeing to thrive at home. Initiatives promote and foster social connections, learning and growth, economic empowerment, and rich and meaningful community engagement. MCDP uses evidence-based initiatives and applies trauma informed, culturally safe, person-centred, strength-based and place-based approaches.

Initiatives are diverse ranging from but are not limited to, community events (such as Mental Health Week, International Women’s Day) to parenting workshops (such as 1-2-3 Magic) and wellbeing workshops facilitating social connection (such as Zumba, Yoga). MCDP provides information and refers participants to other services, as needed.

Partnerships and Initiatives

MCDP works with diverse stakeholders such as councils, schools, ethno-specific organisations, migrant services, and many more.

MCDP currently provides sector coordination.

MCDP primarily receives funding from NSW Department of Communities and Justice, and from Club and Council grants to deliver specific, short-term initiatives.
